Messed my sideskirt. Got Question
5 Attachment(s)
Well, not a good day. I misjudged a turn and ran over a ghetto curve. :shakes head:  Put scrapes and a 3 inch gash in my passenger side skirt, towards the wheel. You can't see it unless you are underneath the car. I was going to leave it alone, however, concern about the gash and anything might come of it. Besides looking like sxxt everytime I put the car on the lift, is there reason why I should change this out? Below are some close ups.

Ouch!, Get a new one, for peace of mind

The gash is what you make it. Live with it or save some money and have it fixed. That's up to you. It's your car.

Good man! had the outer part of the skirt been damaged and there was no way to hide it then a repair would've been your only choice.
|
A co worker brought up the fact if the gash is deep enough, water can get in and...might cause damage...rust to rocker panel if, etc. That was my main concern

If the sheet metal has not been punctured your ok seeing your pics look like it hasn't so outside of some touchup paint your fine.
|
I bet those huge side mirrors blocked your view of the curve. Doesn't look that bad to me, you should be ok if you can live with it.

Ok guys, I don't think its the sideskirt that has the gash. From my picture, it looks like its a piece right next to the sideskirt. If this is true, anyone know what that piece might call? I can't really tell if its some kind of a plastic guard or something...

hey gray, as far as what the plastic is I'd have look at what it's for I'm going to look around here and see if i can find a shot from someone else's to determine what it is and what it's for, my feeling is your ok.
|
Thanks man, I know it's nothing, however if the piece is cheap, then might as well get it. I assume its some kind of plastic "guard" like a fender guard or something...
