A baseball cap has a brim as a functional feature. And it is not to shade the back of your neck. While I agree that since so many people wear them backwards it is no longer strange, it does not make it any less stupid. Emulating the Hip Hop culture's habits is nothing to be proud of or to aspire to.

Just because something is not "functional" it does not mean that you have to avoided. Look at front wheel drive Hondas with big wings? For what, it probably doesn't even help that much with down-force. Its all relative.:ughdance:

Really think you should take a step back and re-think your outlook on life if wearing a hat backwards frustrates you this much.

Got_Z 08-01-2014 07:07 PM

I dont understand all the hate. I think its pretty cool. Doest defeat the whole purpose of having a sports car, but there are a lot of rich people out there who can afford to have a "show car"

Fashion is not functional. Maybe people just like the look.

onzedge 08-02-2014 05:26 AM

It is well-known that in San Francisco in the 70's when the gay lifestyle began to "come out", especially in the Castro District, that wearing ones hat backwards was a sign that indicated one's preference for "catching" rather than "pitching".

To each his own, I suppose.

to me hellaflush seems like a passing trend
I remember when the fast and the furious first came out everyone had the neon glow lights and nos bottles.
Eventually everyone came back to their senses.

Look, you have the right to do whatever the hell you want to your car, your house, your David Bowie collection, e.t.c. as long as you own them.

But keep in mind that while you are free to do such things, the rest of us are free to say and judge whatever the hell we want in response...

That leaves you with 2 options: deal with it, or :gtfo2: Your call.

As for my take, I do not understand it. It makes no sense to me to mod a car to the point where you really can't drive it on normal roads without breaking something. I am all for making your car look good, but if the only way it can look good to you is to basically ruin it's ability to function, then sell the drive-train, turn it into a large lawn ornament, and go buy yourself a scooter. At least they can go down the road without ripping out a floor pan.

This is the camber I'm gonna shoot for. Little bit of positive, little bit of negative. Nobody is doing it yet, but you just wait....

Oval racers do, you just have to decide which way you plan to turn then route gps accordingly. Lol perhaps you have the next trend. Modify the car to look cool but lose ability to turn right effectively.

I'll bet you use the word "dude" dozens of times a day too. Have you ever seen the old film of the hippies from the 60's and how ridiculous they look in Nehru Jackets and Love Beads ? Wearing a hat backwards may be in style for some now but it doesn't mean that it isn't a fashion to be mocked not only now but in the future. Get ahead of the curve. You'll thank me for my elderly advice and wisdom.

dude, bball caps have been worn backwards for as long as they have been around.

Its not like 80s clothes or anything out of the 70s. Trust me, its all on you as far as backward hats are concerned.

You know what the difference between me and you is?

I make this look good ;)

And by elderly advice do you mean experience of wearing said love beads and Nehru jackets? I mean it's ok to admit it?

But seriously if you wanna talk about terrible fads then stick to bashing stanced out riced out cars. Not my backwards hats.

Normally I could care less what other people do with their possessions, but as this car gets older and the used market gets more accessible, younger [looking] owners like myself suffer the negative externalities of the crowd that impress their image on non-enthusiasts. No ill-will to the hella flush crowd, just frustration.

I still don't understand how a tire can seal on a rim like that. I thought the lip was there to help the bead seal, but that tire isn't stretching on to a lip. Is it sealing to the step in the lip?

I assume that car is on bags, what does it look like raised up?

Drakonis GTR 08-09-2014 10:57 AM

I guess they put a shitload of sealer on them to get them to stick. In any case, it just seems like a ticking time bomb to me.

My question is to how many accidents happen every year because morons stretched their tires, and then the tires blow when they take a turn to fast and go flying off the road into something...

Duc_Z09 08-09-2014 10:20 PM

I still don't understand how anybody can think that looks good.

Masterbeatty 08-09-2014 10:24 PM

That celica reminds me of the time machine. I'm pretty sure it's just a slow-mo pic of it turning into a flying car/ time machine. No need to hate on it, he probably knows something that we all don't about camber and tire fitment.

aszyd 08-09-2014 11:36 PM

More on the Celica, a little down the page.
