7AT and cruising to a stop

give it a tad bit of throttle when it engages the lower gear. same thing on the synchro-rev match on the MT's when letting the machine rev-match on the downshifts.

on the downshifts. unless you're braking hard the gearbox bounces you around because
there's no throttle.

I've noticed it and I love it. If you're coasting you're probably stopping or slowing down anyway. It's just doing what you want it to do. The Z reads the drivers mind lol. Seriously though if you want to maintain speed in a coast put it in neutral or give it a little gas. Higher HP engines will brake more than regular car engines.

I had been thinking this was a positive....

The AT is just down shifting for you after you let your foot off the gas.. that way when you accelerate again, it's just ready and waiting to explode forward... i mean, the trans is pretty much just begging you accelerate again. god, it's pretty much the whole reason i bought the AT... and if you don't accelerate, and end up breaking... well then it doesn't really matter. IMHO, this just isn't the car to coast in, it wants to be ridden hard.

Yeah the 7AT is little more edgy. The shifts are a more solid at times depending on how you're driving. It's actually one of the things I like about the car. Could we say that its a slush box without being too slushy? Refinement can go too far in my opinion where the mechanics of a car become so masked and hidden that the ride becomes too quiet, too cushy, too smooth, simply numbing and boring. Definitely not the 370z.

Put it in manual mode and go hard it just loves to be driven and when changing down manually ,blip, blp, blp the rev matching capabilities are truly inspiring I have to say
