not good advertisement for injen if it's working no better than stock on a hot day though... you guys ever meansured your intake temps before and after the intake install? |

It isn't huge. Its more of the combined effect of everything together. Each mod improves everything a bit. After gaining a bit here and a bit there the total becomes noticeable.
The best way to gauge the difference is to have a stock one and a modded one side by side and try each out one after the other. The crank pully is pretty inexpensive though so it doesn't hurt at all to get it. |

I apologize and take back what I said. It just happened to me today. Ambient temps were about 106F, oil temp was about 250F. I was taking the onramp from Topanga Canyon Blvd to the 118 East. I stepped on the throttle in 3rd gear to like 50% and... not much happened. It was very odd.

Did you go on an extended drive beyond normal daily commute? I guess the reason I've never experienced this until recent is because I went on a prolonged drive going from Gardena -> Downtown LA -> La Crescenta -> back to Gardena. :/

Yes, a coworker and I went for a little lunch drive from Northridge to Porter Ranch, then to Woodland Hills and out on Mulholland Highway. The sluggishness was on the way back from Woodland Hills to Northridge (drove all the way down Topanga Canyon Blvd to the 118).

After the Uprev fan adjustment, it helps A LOT with the first gear lag. I feel that the car doesn't bog as often, but it's still there on really hot days. My next mod will be a 25 row oil cooler, hopefully this cures it.
