Default A question about the 370z's ground clearance.

I live in NYC and there are roads here that are bumpy and even some with pot holes. When you're going up the ramp to a gas station or going up a ramp to get to lets say a parking lot at the movies will the 370z scrape the front bumper? I'm getting the sport package with it so the front lip spoiler will make it even lower.

I think of that front chin spoiler as a part I will be replacing soon; it scraps on everything.

The answer is yes. Something you need to remember is to always exit at an angle to minimize the scraping.

Only the front chin spoiler is quite low and scrapes the streets on medium and higher dips.
However, don't worrry about the scrapping of the spoiler too much.
It does not harm the Z since the spoiler is a piece of flexible rubber and you can replace it for $160 to make it new again after a few years.
So ENJOY the Z and DRIVE it like the way you like it.

That's basically what it's designed for. I had my Z lowered back in late July and here's how my spoiler looks today (photo taken just this past Saturday):

Still looks pretty good!

Funny, I thought the same thing at first. Did a double-take before I realized it was just a reflection.

Since that photo, my license plate holders finally came in:

Got one in the front and one in the rear......with the blue license plate lights & the working fog light it looks pretty cool at night:

Cool

When I had my rx7 I was livin in los sures in brooklyn.
I had 3.5 inches of clearance.
I had to drive my Mazda RX-7, 25 mph or less. (U can only do 25mph, 30mph or 35mph in the city streets of nyc anyway but 25mph is max for low slung cars)
Potholes would scrape my skirts up n I had my car gettin bonded n painted annually to keep it looking good. The roads would wear on my suspension fairly quick for a car.
N u need to garage a car like that in nyc. Leavin it out will make it an instant target.
The Z will be a sucky car to hav in the city.
I used my rx 7 as a highway car n to hit up the races fountain ave or the cross bronx at night or do the races in hempstead.
U gotta be very selective where u take your car and open it up.
Public transportation will still be your bff. Lol. New york streets are so bad u really need a 4x4.
Lol. I'm serious. Make sure ur Z is a weekend car and hav a mental map of the potholes
