Some of us can afford m3s and vettes. We just choose not to because there are more important things to spend our money on than cars. Nothign wrong with buying an expensive car, but just because some people don;t have them doesn't mean they can't afford them.

I hope it will be powered by a v6 variant of the motor in this car:

When I say the new Z should get a V8, I'm not talking about the VK series, or swapping a Chevy V8 in either, I'm saying create a new one. Give the new Gtr a V8TT and it's exactly like now, Gtr has a V6TT and the Z a NA V6, except now uped' to V8's'....I just think that would be the key move imho for the next generations...

Cough** Toyota Ft1 aka Supra... **cough

Ive been a Nissan lover for many years and hopefully they dont have a 7 year lull in between but it does appear other car makers are stepping their game up heavily.

I will always be a Z lover though...

Don't forget that Honda still has the new S2000 that is rumored to be mid engined. So hopefully between Toyota, Nissan, and Honda we get something decent by 2017.

Nissan should just put the Titan V8 or better in the GTR and TT it. Put a 4.0 VQ engine, (my 08 Pathfinder has 4.0 VQ). in the 2016 400Z as an option and we'll be happy. Right, fellow Z owners?

There is no way they are putting a v8 into the next z. All talk has been about dropping weight and efficiency. Only the American makers are still putting big V8s into their sporty cars. At best, it'll have a turbo 6 or turbo 6 w/hybrid. The cheapest and lamest route (unless they cut massive weight also) is the vq carried over but with DI. The possibly most likely option is a turbo 4.

^If I kept my 370, I would've looked into doing a V8 swap like the drift 370. The VK56 or whatever is capable of 450+ hp if built right, without FI. But after I sold my 370, I started looking at FD3S with Hinson LS swaps. But I think too many of them out there are d1cked up weekend projects akin to how people do Honda swaps and leave them all mickey-moused. And I looked at Z32 TTs but I don't want the hassle of a 20+ y.o. FI'd car acting up on me.

M4 for me. I6 turbo, 12 sec all day long.

No hard feelings we have all been there. Although a V8 Z would be pretty awesome its obviously never going to happen. It would be epic if Nissan where to revive there I6 (RB) and put it in the Z.....

I would rather have a high revving 4 cylinder turbo. Have you ever driven a 400+hp Mitsu evo well if you havent then its hard to explain that its much more powerful then you would think for hp and torque? Ive driven a 400 hp mustang v8 and personally its not my thing...Felt like a lowered truck

The best option keeping a good power to weoght ratio is a 6 cyl turbo or 4 cylinder turbo. A v8 doesnt belong in the next Z. They are focusing on lightweight performance and a v8 unless used magnesium and aluminum and spending an arm and a leg to keep a big block lightweight it shouldn't and wont happen for a very good reason.

Remember if the Z is created it will be more like a scion frs size. If a front engine car that size had a v8 the front to back weight ratio would be horrible for cornering. Like 65 front 35 rear

Oh, I'm talking an NA 4.0L V8. 8000RPM. Basically the S2000 motor on crack.

Perfect world would be a little lighter, but also moving the motor back a foot and the wheels forward a couple inches. Get the weight distribution closer to 50/50.

TT V6 that still revs high, or a slightly larger V6 that revs higher than the current motor. 400hp and the Touring model around 3000lbs.

If I don't like the next version of the Z, I can always take that money and put it towards a solid TT build for my car.

A Japanese V8 in a sports car? Lol sorry guys, not happening. You have a better chance at winning the lottery. Leave the big V8's for the American cars. I honestly see Nissan keeping it NA, smaller V6, but major overhaul on the chassis. 2800-3000lbs with 300ish hp. I just can't see them doing a V6 TT when you already have that in the GTR.

4.0L V8 is a tiny motor.
