Startup noise/ exhaust note

Anybody else's car sound really raspy when you cold start it? Mine actually sounds like it has an exhaust leak at the manifolds. Very clicky high pitched. i get the added fuel and all for start up, but it still seems strange. No other car I have has this issue.

More than likely, you're hearing the fuel pump and valvetrain...the later until the covers fill with oil, which acts as a sound-dampener (in addition)

Well Normally I would agree, but this really sounds like my exhaust. I should say that I owned RBH Automotive and RBH Racing for 6 years and 9 years. I have heard a lot of noisy valvetrains, and this is further out and back on the car.
My lack of research leaves me to ask though. With the RPM range on these engines are they chain or belt driven cams?

No question my car is noisy for the first few seconds on startup, but I am sure my noise is oil related, not exhaust. It is very important on this engine to let it idle for at least 30 seconds before driving.

I have a similar noise and it certainly sounds like an exhaust. It was a louder after the HFC install.

Yeah I listened to mine today and you can hear some valvetrain noise, but there is a pretty obvious exhaust sound. Not only pretty rough out back but up front as well.

i would replace the gaskets if i thought it was my manifolds leaking. better to be safe than sorry
