Well, for some reason this happened to me today!

No sudden sound or anything. Just pulled out of a parking lot and started driving straight. I noticed my steering wheel was a tad off center and knew something wasn't right. Pulled over right away and this is what I found.

305/30 RE-11s on a 19x10.5 rim

Tire pressure has been normal the past month, thought maybe it has been slowly tearing itself apart for a while and gave in today. Only around 16k miles on them. No track days or spinning tires/ silly drift days. Just daily driven. The tires look like crap in the pictures probably because I live right next to the bare reservation and there is always tons of dust storms rolling through my neighborhood. That is probably why the sidewalls look crap

I originally bought them to track my car on the weekends but ended up never getting into it. So the main reason i'm posting is to ask about some tire recommendations that aren't overkill for an N/A Z. I tried searching around some but wanted to see what people are running right now and if they like them. I live in Arizona so i'm obviously looking for a summer tire that can take some rain here and there but just a few levels down performance wise from the RE-11 so I can have some better tread life.

dude this same exact thing happened to me on my 285 RE-11 about a month ago... i was about 5k in, with 2 track days on em. tire pressure was fine, but i also found some nails in it when i took them off so mine was likely due to rapid decompression

Uh...AZ dry rot and 16k on RE-11s? How many years old r the tires- 1.5 years old? OMG! LOL! That's not good...S-04s for the replacement...OK...

Looks like dry rot just off the bead. May be a construction issue causing excessive dry rot. Check your other tires. It may be happening to them also. I had a set of Goodyears do that to me about an inch off the bead with a load range E tire. I saw it while changing oil on my truck. I had just gotten back from a long pull grossing about 21,000 lbs. Pucker facter was pretty big. It was on my front right. Had a couple more with the same issue starting.
