I feel like racing seats, light(er) flywheel, wider wheels (with proper tires of course) will make me keep the car till the wheels fall off...

One thing I really wanna do next is get a different hood, that doesn't have as much of a curve to it; that's a personal preference.

EDIT: Oh and a roll-cage too!

I'll be 48 in January and I just got my 2014 370z last month.

As far as it being my son's car when I got my Infiniti G35 6MT Coupe three years ago so I was 45 at the time. One woman at work said why did you get a 2 door you must be going through a mid life crisis, how fast does it go, did it come with those wheels etc. That's freaking envy dammit.

When I was buying sport bikes a few years before that I'd hear the same crap, people are going to talk mess no matter what especially those that are envious & jealous.

I did not get the 370z to regain my lost youth, pick up chicks or to look cool.

I got it because I've always wanted a Z since I saw the 280/300 Z's when I was younger.

I like the level of performance for the money spent and it looks amazing. I have a SUV so if I need to haul people they can climb in, the Z is my toy. Its fun to drive, moves like a cat and roars like a lion.

If I go for a leisure drive in my SUV its like drinking flat beer, I'll jump in the Z get on a road and drive just to see where the road goes. The level of excitement and relaxation I get out of driving the Z is very close to when I was riding motorcycles :driving:

Yeah I'm going through a midlife crisis it started when I was 25. :nutswinger:

Are you kidding me? My 370Z is my fourth Z and I still have my original 1974 260Z. Forties too old to shift? I'm in my 70's and on a good day can still figure it out! :tiphat:

I drive my wife's 2014 Lexus IS every once in a while and really enjoy the luxury look and feel of the cockpit. That is until I get back into my Z and the overall fun of it trumps the Lexus feel..... I do however highly recommend Lexus cars.

^^ I want to get my wife a Lexus but she still sucks at driving. She's only had her license for a year so her 2013 Sentra has more scuffs than my work boots.

2012 370Z M6, Silver, Touring Sports Package, Nav, Camera, Sports Suspension

Reason for selling: Blind Spots, M6 not fun to shift for a guy in his 40's (and ATs are getting much more advanced), Depreciation and knowing when the next model comes out I am screwed more, I felt embarrased driving my "sons" car.

I put it on CL, AT, and here with 0 responses in 2 weeks
not even a low ball offer. I make a quick decison to take the offer from Carmax and run.

I am looking at a luxury coupe like a Lexus or Infinity I can buy for cash.

i am amazed that carmax gave you that much... they usually low ball the hell out of you.

Good luck on the choice and purchase OP. I'm older than you and bought my Z because I wanted a driver's car. That's what I like to do. I really don't care what people think. I bought it because I enjoy driving a performance car on twisty roads and I love doing mechanical work out in the garage. I like the heritage of the Z and I like researching and executing tasteful mods that improve an already great platform. It's a fun hobby.

I'm 63 and drive a stick in Chicago traffic everyday. I don't see the big deal....half the time I'm just rolling along in neutral. I've haven't owned an automatic since a '58 Pontiac in High School. I've always owned either sports cars or manual sport sedans and I don't see any reason to stop just because I'm getting older. What I really want is a 25 year old babe and then people could really talk.

You definitely got one hell of a deal. Very little depreciation! I've had both Lexus and Infiniti and both are great. Good luck!
