Default Needs some Final Opinions.

So i know ive been ranting about my steering wheel stuttering as i brake at high speeds. Ive been going around, the forums says warped rotors or pad deposits, and a friend has said it was suspension. Im going to the shop today to get my rear quarter panel fixed (finally, I know) and im tempted to ask them to check it out for me. But im wondering if I should take it to the dealer and see if SOMETHING is wrong they can do it under warranty no matter what it may be, powertrain warranty. Just as a final thought anything else you guys might think it attributes to?

To sum up all my other posts and to make this the last one:

My car's steering wheel is slightly off center, if 50/50 is straight its about 45/55 so it leaning slightly downwards on the left side.

Now, when im braking from high speeds so 65+ my steering wheel shakes and it also feels like my cars shaking because I feel it in my chair.

Now it gets progressively worse so first high speed brake is slight stutters and if i do it for the 2nd, third, or fourth time it gets worse and worse to the point where im just like f,it.

So this sums up everything, i know ive gotten a lot of input but if theres anything that needs to be repeated please do and if you guys have any more insightful information in regards to this please add.

And this will hopefully help previous and future owners if this problem ever happens to them.

Thanks.

Take it to the dealer.

Your desire to help other people in very noble, however it does not really help anybody until the problem gets diagnosed and fixed. It is alot easier for someone with the same problem to go into a shop when they know exactly what the issues is and how to fix it.

Please keep us updated.

If you are under warranty, why not just go to the dealer? If it's brakes, they won't be covered, but something else may be wrong. The brake shimmy and the steering wheel alignment could be 2 separate issues.

It has to be asked but, did you hit anything? Pothole? Curb? Small child? 99% of the time, steering wheels don't misalign themselves.

Had this happen to toyota camry we owned and a acura tsx... both times it was the rotors. we replaced the rotors and the shaking went away.

Hey 6spd, to my knowledge, ive hit potholes like any other chap, nothing to serious. Other than that my wheels have no hit anything nor has my car taken any damage aside from the rear quarter which happened at under 5 mph.

Warped rotors/brake deposits sounds like the ticket.

If multiple hard stops didn't make it better, it's not just glazing and you may have a warped rotor.

Since you have the steering wheel misalignment, there is a good chance that you hit something and damaged part of the brakes/suspension/steering.

Steering wheel position is used by the various traction/stability systems and should be realigned after fixing underlying problem.

Quit ******* around and get a pro to check things out. You don't know what you're doing and we can't troubleshoot remotely.

i mean if you dont know how to diagnose your car, chances are the dealer (or your private mechanic) will know more about the issue than you?
