The GT-R has these on in the front and rear too -- not a luxury item any more than rest of the dampers on the car are.

Would body dampeners resolve the harmonics of music (vibration) transfered through the steering wheel?

Body damper eliminate wheel hop?
I don't see how a body damper that is made to supress chassis stiffness is going to eliminate rear wheel hop.
I've got SPL rear traction links (SPL RTR Z34) installed, but haven't been able to utilize them since I'm still on the stock "bars of soap" Bridgestones. If I still get hop after installing the Yokohama ADVAN AD08 summer tires (coming in APR 12), I'm going to install the Energy Suspension 350Z polyurethane rear differential carrier bushings (7.1119) in the winter of '12. If that don't stop it, then I'll try replacing the rear lower link bushing (nothing available yet-TMK). |

The dampers stop vibrations that can cause cracks the frame, not anything you can feel in ride quailty or noise. The higher spring and shock rates cause the problem. The RX-7 R1 (1993) could have used them as frame crack developed when the cars were still under warrenty.

When I was at Tochigi (the assembly plant for Nissan), you could always tell which cars were destined to be a NISM0 on the assembly line. They were the only ones that did not have any of the body work. Apparently the NISMO body work is installed at a different point in the assembly process, different from the standard 370Zs. The same is true for the IPL G37 models. Last edited by Dustin@Z1; 02-29-2012 at 09:24 AM. |
