I love it when people go all high and mighty on someone else when they beat their car. Who cares? Its their car...and their money. They didn't grab your keys and beat your car...or your dog
![]() Beat away my friend...beat away. Just take pics/video next time. ![]()

Even with VDC off it's not completely "off" you probably either hit rev-limiter and it blipped back down as you tried to shift or you set off a VDC parameter which kicked in. That's my best guess...launching at 4500 is ok if you know how to properly slip the clutch. Get it wrong and you'll bog and or glaze the flywheel/clutch plates which will require a new clutch!

Speaking of the flywheel, it's the flywheel you're hearing, not the clutch, and yes I hear it too. It's normal for this car. In fact, flywheel noise is why Nissan put such a heavy flywheel in. They did the same thing in the 350Z. I don't fully understand the technical aspects of it, but a higher mass flywheel = less noise. I had a 350 before the 370 and put in a JWT lightweight flywheel. Man, my car sounded awful after doing that! The performance gain was there, sure. But sitting there at idle with the clutch disengaged? It sounded like something was wrong with my engine! ![]()

Hell the guy might be worth millions and its a throw away car. If he wants to lite his car on fire and sit in the middle of it, its aaaa oooo kayyyy by me. Long as he payed for it and has no more payments haha. I woudlnt want to see nissan get cheated out of what they were owed.

As for the strange sensation I have no new guesses other than what the other guys have said. Have you considered trying a few launches at different (lower) rpms to see if you can recreate it without as much power (and without as much chance to hurt something)? Edit: Or maybe trying a 2500 rpm launch with the VDC still on to see if it is the same sensation as before. To blown I say ![]() -William |
