How hard do you drive your Z
I have a 2010 370z with 83k miles. I drive my car pretty hard daily but don't abuse it. I like to feel that rush of power, also people like to challenge me a lot. I make sure to take great care of my baby by keeping oil fresh and plugs are changed every 25k miles(overkill I know). Seeing as im getting close to 100k miles I'm not sure if I should start taking it a little easier on her. Im about to go get retuned at Z1 next month and going on the dyno pushing my car worries me a little. So what I want to know is how hard does everyone else drive their Z and at what point do you say I have too many miles to be pushing this hard?

Just drive it hard. It'll be fine. If its going to pop its going to pop and there is nothing that you will be able to do to stop it.

Aggressive street driving should be fine as long as you keep up with maintenance... I mean, you're not redlining every gear, banging hard downshifts, and drifting through your apexes, right?
My point is that spirited driving isn't racing, and if this car can't handle a bit of that then it isn't worth having.

You maintain your car for what it was designed to do. I do the same. Our cars should be fine.

and hell, if you're not going to drive spiritedly (safely), why bother getting a sports car, right? |

OP don't worry and drive it hard, these cars were engineered with a lot of durability.
the transmission is a stout unit, check out supra forums they use the nissan 6 speed manual in their supras, our 6 speed is stronger than their r154 5 speed manual. the engine is bullet proof, a lot of people are running FI on their engines for thousands of abusive miles. If you are stock or just N/A then you have nothing to worry about. The weakest link in the entire car is the clutch hydraluic system (mainly the CSC), everything else is solid. |

Yes, the wise words of kenchan! If you want to want a sports car to drive it like a grandma, buy a corvette lol.

Im glad to see that I am not the only one to drive it like its meant to be. Im going to keep driving it hard and keeping the maintenance up on it. This is by far the best car ive ever owned.

You wont fully appreciate the car until you push it hard. I would say i haven't pushed my Z to the point of its limits cuz my driving skills are not good enough up to that category.
Im sure this engine can run up to 250k miles, just look at the 240z....20 years still kicking a*s on the road. |

I don't drive it like I stole it as much now, but I will run it hard, other then the CSC and Master that have already been mentioned the rest is solid.
oh and i'm at 284,xxxkms. and just about to leave to put on another 2500kms, this week... |

I'm still in the break-in period of my Z but I still squeeze in some fun while staying under 4-4.5k. I can not wait until she's past 1200 miles.
When I had my G35 6MT coupe, once she was warmed up (engine and tires), it was fun time. I don't see the sense in buying a sports car and not having spirited drives and tapping into its performance while still being safe on public roads. I love taking nice curves and feeling the rush of the engine and shifting gears
