BTW anyone know if thats a cayman S? or is it the regular cayman?

it pulls pretty hard in the straights..

Wow...epic NISMO fail, once again. I want to see a NISMO 370Z vs. 350Z Sport head-to-head battle. I'm beginning to think the Base with the Sport package will out-perform the NISMO.

Slower than the Z4 by over half a second around Tsukuba, and slower than the 135i, 3900 lb. Camaro SS, and the four-door, automatic Jaguar XFR around Laguna? Are you kidding me?! :shakes head:

the vert is a cayman, the black porsche is a cayman S (the one tsuchiya drive).

No. There is no such thing as a "Cayman vert."

At 0:15, front-to-back: Z4, 370Z, Boxster S, Cayman S, Carrera S.

The normal with sport package has outperformed the NISMO in every test I've seen. I can understand the engines not being broken in all the way, but the suspension differences should put the NISMO ahead yet they are getting very low skidpad and slalom numbers. I'm suspecting the supplied tires are a bit wacky on the NISMO.

kenchan 09-16-2009 09:28 AM

which tires do the nismo's run? was it yok's?

chris410 09-16-2009 10:17 AM

The driver of the NISMO was losing it in the braking areas. The Cayman had a great drive where it passed the NISMO...good driving plus the car having good power gave it the advantage there.

I haven't driven a NISMO but my guess would be that the sport/touring wouldn't be that far off. Just keep in mind that it comes down to driver at a stock level. Chosing the wrong line, throttle, and brake inputs will screw you no matter what suspension/tires...etc... you have!

There is no significant variance between BM test-drivers. All are among the same skill level with comparable professional-driving experience. Still, the NISMO was the slowest in the group by over half a second compared to the 4th-place Z4...a relatively significant gap on such a short track like Tsukuba.

hummm... perhaps on semi wet RE050A's would've worked better for him.

dori dori's blabbing off the porsche is cool and so is he. lol :icon17:

ssqpolo 09-16-2009 04:10 PM

that nismo had nav! wtf

galtamar 09-16-2009 04:26 PM

Driver wasnt very good when compared with the others. NISMO was the only fully manual transmision?? Still im very dissapointed with the NISMO it should at least be better than the Z4.

Indeed a very significant gap... wonder if we miss something from the footage(driver skills, tires make etc...). The Nismo should'nt be slower than a Boxter...

zman1910 09-16-2009 10:42 PM

Man.... PDK is a whole different level. I wish there was a way to confirm that it was a Cayman S although I wouldn't be surprised if that was a base Cayman with PDK.
