Wet mid morning but dry start and sunny afternoon.

Highlight of the day was spinning through the expensive side of the timing gear during free runs. They had to replace it. Sorry guys. Kinda held up the show for about 10 minutes.

Rolled over 45k on the car. Looks like I am driving 5K miles every 2- 2 1/2 months. Changed the oil today and did a fluid exchange on Clutch. 5K miles and the clutch fluid looked like crap again, even using Motul RBF600.

First, I have to apologize to you, the Z community, for driving around in an absolutely filthy Z for nearly a year. I have done my best to reverse course this weekend. I found some before photos ... from Dec 9, 2014! The first three photos are before, and the other four are the fruits of my labor. My camera died just before engine bay photos, so I'll have to get those later.

Since Friday I have spent somewhere around 13 hours detailing the Z in what I like to call a Labor of Love. Almost everything. By hand. It might be easier to name the items I did not clean. Undershroud, spare tire, and radiator are about all I can think of

Engine bay got a thorough wipe down including removal and treatment of all cowls. Wheels were removed and cleaned, including barrels. This allowed me to clean the calipers as well as clean and treat the fender linings. The interior was vacuumed and all panels were wiped down in detail. Most rubber trim and seals were cleaned and treated. Exhaust was polished and CF cans were cleaned.

All exterior panels received at least a wash, clay, polish, and liquid sealant applied by hand. This is the shortcut I took at the end of today when I was fading. The hood, front fenders, doors and roof were done when I had more energy and received a wash, clay, 2-step polish, 2 layers liquid sealant, glaze, and buttery wax. See the photo of the arsenal I used. Towels used were Eagle Edgeless Orange/Blue from The Rag Company.

apology accepted. The important part is that you have confessed to your mistakes and have seen the error in your ways. never let it happen again

Jk!

Great job on the detailing session!

Looking good! Mine hasn't been washed in about a month now, although I've probably only driven it about 300miles since. Was going to wash it this past weekend but it was ridiculously hot/humid so I opted for a beer and A/C instead

Maybe this coming weekend I'll clean her up.

Default I finally have something to add!

I just returned from a weekend trip to the Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge in Arkansas. It's a great little trip. Just 4 hours from Dallas.

Here's a clip of me climbing the hill after getting breakfast in the 'cute' town at the base of the mountain.

Mine still waits after autox last saturday. I have autox again this Saturday. I may take Friday off to spiff up the car, maybe change some fluids, trans and diff. I have a pressure bleeder, I should cycle out the brake and clutch fluid as well.
