I always wanted a z/g35 bc of the factory exhaust sound and seems my 370z does not have the same tone ?
Until I got headers, HFCs, and a CBE, I thought the 370Z was too quite exhaust-wise. What got me was the road noise and what drove me nuts was sand etc pinging off the rear wheel well. I covered those suckers and it made a world of difference.

You can go nuts and do every square inch, but I think it is a waste of money (diminishing returns). Get the large sections of sheet metal in the doors, trunk, wheel wells, and maybe the floorboard and that will make all the difference in the world.

Or go nuts.

GL with the install.

yah, the 370Z's muffler is too quiet. should swap it out.

one of the many reasons why i still have my G35C with stock exhaust. lots of mods on my car, but the exhaust is one thing nissan got it perfect on the G.

After listening to some videos for a hour I think I'm sold on the ARK exhaust... Just not sure what model/type is the quietest... That **** sounds killer man but not like look at me loud sounding lol so far that is the one... However 2nd place is going to nismo as of now.. I will probably be up all night now watching videos lol thanks

And the prices shocked the hell out of me ! Crazy $$

The rear of the car has almost zero insulation from road noise. Take off the panels and line it there as well.

About the exhaust, do you want it louder? If so, go aftermarket, fi,ark ect

Road noise doesn't bother me..im used to it.. expected it in a tiny 2 seat sports car for mid 20s. Nothing that a aftermarket exhaust and decent audio setup cant fix too.

I will be saving this thread for next week to share you guys advice and see what they recommend and make the decision..

As far as exhaust I deff do not want loud.. I personally love the old sound of the 350z/ and g35 lol I dunno maybe I'm just crazy but it just does not seem as loud as the old ones use to sound.. Headers hmmm maybe the cheaper way to go to get better sound and still keep it somewhat quite -

I just did a stereo upgrade, I did the area behind the seats in dynamat extreme, and also did 1/4" dynaliner. Where as before I had to turn my volume up to around 20 for a comfortable sound level that has now dropped to around 14-15 after doing the dynamat.

Oh look, a thread I could have helped in.

Good luck op. ~24sqft strategically placed in the hatch area should help immensely. If you go with gtmat (Onyx or Quadro only!), tell them Tracie sent you.

Dynamatted my entire hatch from seats back and it is a noticeable improvement. Dynamat the doors as well, it helps some with the noise, but makes the stock stereo sound so much better.

And a definite on adding an exhaust.

Not trying to dis-respect or belittle OP but comon man. Have you driven a Mazdaspeed lately? Its louder with road noise than this. I used to own one before the Z and this is like a Lexus compared to that.

It has been said before, should have gone with an Infinity.

I cleaned out my rear wheel wells really good and applied Spraydead in them then a rubberized spray over that after it dried. It helped just a little with road noise but mostly stopped the loud dings coming from the wheel wells from dirt and debris on the road... plus it makes the wheel wells look much more complete and not half assed like they come from the factory. Not sure if it will last well but it's holding up just fine with about a month in of driving. I haven't done anything on the inside but planning on doing something in the rear hatch area later when I feel like it. Will probably go with dynamat for that. Not in a big hurry for it though.

Did you happen to buy that from an eBay seller named deimos_deals? Not that it matters but Spraydead is crap if used alone, but I see you used the rubberized spray after.
