What is this called?

At the very top the aluminum brace which resides right under the radiator. The closest I can come is a suspension member, but I can find no part number for that brace, it goes from one side to the other and bolts on to the Suspension member. It's the very top of the picture.

Welcome to Nissan, I forgot what I needed awhile back but it was just a little piece but I had to pay the full $500 for a whole assembly. They would not split it up.
Your best bet, maybe email z1 and see if they have some used ones laying around or hit up a junk yard.

Girlfriend didn't see the a damn parking stop and drove it right up on it and bent the hell out of it. I got under there and looked and told her not to worry about it, it's just a brace, should only cost a couple hundred at most.

I didn't know it was going to be $600+ :gtfo2:

You could have someone take some pretty close aluminum (bar stock)? and make one....probably stronger than the original. There are a lot of machinists/fabricators on this forum that could give advice.

Just be glad you don't have a Nismo, to replace the plastic underbody panel, last I check that plastic cost about $1000.

A bit more actually, but there is the zspeed one now for about $400 which is a lot better anyways.

:iagree: Root cause analysis is always useful.

Course you could just ban her from every driving it again. :tiphat:

EDIT: That could net the same result.

Had my eye on a 600HP MB and that's why I didn't pull the trigger. John from Z1 hooked me up. :)

Thanks D, you saved me some cash and John helped me out. Since she had no idea what was actually damaged, I took it upon myself to get some Hotchkiss sway-bars and some SP links. :)

That has already been done, she suggested it and I said, "Honey, if that's what you think is best." :happydance:

Although if I can keep upgrading when she hit stuff.... :p

I thought I would be pushing it if I went over a thousand... she has a girlfriend who drives and maintains an EVO. I didn't want any EVO-Girl stealth missions into the garage. :rofl2:

You know the deal, if I didn't love her I would send her down the road, but she puts up with all my idiocy, so I think it's even.

As to the EVO X, I haven't spent much time looking, but she's says it's 450 WHP. Her and I don't get along much so I stay as far away as I can. :gtfo2:

Tadpole 06-19-2014 03:57 PM

Duct tape and baling wire will do the trick!

I have one of those. Married her. 20 year of idiot bliss.

Careful the friend of the gf. They are constantly :stirthepot:
