My car only came with one key
Anyone have idea about replacement keys? The guy I bought the car from only had one key. He said the dealer wanted lie $ 225 for another one. I will call and check. Is there any alternatives?

370Z fob | eBay
Edit: I'm assuming you'd still need to have the fob programmed for your ignition by a dealer, but don't know how that works or how much it would cost. |
The same thing happened to me. I don't remember paying quite that much.
Seemed like it took way too long for the the dealer to program it which is why the cost is so high. |

There are companies the service the dealerships with keys. They cut and reprogram and visit all the dealerships. Got mine done for $100. I don't remember the name of the company but call around to different dealerships and ask for a referral. Should be easy.

I'm not sure I'd want a "missing" key floating around for my vehicle. Hopefully you priced this into the vehicle when you bought it and should consider rekeying the car.

Usually when the dealer does it, that is part of the charge. They take your key and the new one, wipe the car programming, and then redo both keys at the same time. Very handy for when you have no idea who has the second key.
And $225 isn't too bad. A couple of the dealers here in Orlando want $300+. |

Where in FL are you?! |
I got only one key, the dealer ordered me another key and because of the hassle filled me up with gas. Fine by me!

The programming is more expensive than the key, the FOB is different story. I just paid $105 (key $35) for my daughter's Versa.
