Does clutch fluid expire?

I just bought some Motul 600 and it has a date of 2012, i would think that if it doesn't then why is there a date on it...

As long as it has the factory seal, you should be OK. If the seal has been broken, there is a chance that it has absorbed some water (if the cap was put on tight, probably not a big deal). When in doubt, throw it out.

Absolutely agree, it's too cheap to risk getting your *** reked when your clutch gives out crossing a 2 lane...

and on some sites i've read that this fluid is for racing/off street use only, is this safe for daily driver?

It's safe for DD but it absorbs moisture at a faster rate than dot3 fluid so it needs to be changed offten. I try to flush mine twice a year.

As a DD, I too change mine often as it gets a burnt look. Changing it frequently may (my own theory) extend the life of the CSC by keeping it lubricated.
