VDC and U turns newbie observation

Yesterday I did a slightly fast U turn and it almost felt like someone applied the brakes hard and slowed the car right down. I was not aware that the VDC system on our platform was such a big governor. Found it pretty amusing as it slowed the car right down to prevent the back end from kicking out.

Just found this thread also after posting, sorry.
What does the VDC do?

Do you drive with Vehicle Dynamic Control(VDC) off or on?

With a little practice, you'll be pulling those off flawlessly with VDC off.

Its a shame the vdc is like an on off switch. When I drove my brothers mx5 back when he bought it new in 2006 I drove it almost sideways on a round about and the tractions control and esp assisted in making me a shi* driver look cool.

Where as my own ride at the time an E36 euro spec m3 with nothing more than a real LSD and abs killed me almost a few times.

Last week I saw a young guy in a 350Z do an "accelerated" U turn in a heavy traffic area, he looked like a tool, tires spinning, noise, throwing his back end all around, etc.

No reflection on you LB, I've experienced the same thing after turning right and shifting from 1 to 2, the traction light comes on briefly and I feel the engine slow down momentarily till the ECU considers the slip event over.

It's not nearly as bad in the 370, as it is in the 350.
