Default gas mileage

So I purchased a 2013 370 NISMO on 15 Jan 2013, It recently got totaled on 17 April this year. My gas mileage avg 18.7 mpg, and my gauage would show appx 325 - 350 miles to a fill up. I just purchased another 370z NISMO 2014, im averaging low 17.6 mph, and a fill up shows 310 miles to the tank. A friend mentioned to disconnect my battery overnight, to let everything re-set and compute for altitude changes from Clovis NM 4,295ft to Albuquerque 5,355Ft. Does this make sense ? and are there any dangers to disconnecting battery ? other than having to reset clock, garage opener etc.. Thanks for suggestions and help

to my knowledge there is not danger in disconnecting a batter, just make sure you tighten everything back up... did you just try resetting your mpg counter to 0 and a couple times and see what you get that way. maybe your foot got heavier so you're getting less?

LOL... I know as the temps rise, the less fuel you can put in the tank and the car is starved of oxygen which can lessen the gas mileage as well. will keep an eye on it.

Put gas in the early morning when cold during fill ups.. use the low speed setting on the trigger.

I might have to restart mine by disconnecting. I think im at 13 mpg.

No need to do this. After a few key cycles of turning on and off your car your ECM will adjust.

If you disconnect your battery (I don't think it's necessary), just be sure to do the window reset procedure. And if you are going to be opening/closing the door while the battery is disconnected, be sure to lower the windows at least a little before disconnecting.

Mine has 500 miles on the odometer and my gas mileage is climbing. I'm at 21mpg now but drive 25miles to work mostly highway. Sure hope it gets better than that!

I am not sure how people can get 20+ mpg on this car. Stock I was averaging 14mpg. Now with a giant turbo sitting there, I am getting somewhere between 8-12mpg.

I guess some of you guys bought a sports car to granny it.

Even if I drive it spiritedly at various points, I still manage 20mpg. I don't hotrod it every where I go, because for one it's not possible on my commute to work, no matter how hard I try, and two I still have to watch out for 5-0 so I try to keep it reasonable so as to have a chance to save my *** from getting a ticket.
