to my knowledge there is not danger in disconnecting a batter, just make sure you tighten everything back up... did you just try resetting your mpg counter to 0 and

to my knowledge there is not danger in disconnecting a batter, just make sure you tighten everything back up... did you just try resetting your mpg counter to 0 and a couple times and see what you get that way. maybe your foot got heavier so you're getting less?
