How many forum people choose to remove the spring? Also how many of you replaced it with an aftermarket spring. Why I ask is does this cause more wear and tear on your CSC. I was thinking about removing it too see if there was any benefit (traffic) but don't want to stirup the tranny. Thanks

The spring has nothing to do with the CSC. Take out the spring if you want.

Clutch slave cylinder. The spring is the helper spring on the clutch pedal assembly.

I actually removed my clutch helper spring and I like the feel much better. That is just me though. I haven't thought about replacing it with another spring yet.

removed the spring completely for a month and loved it..
but I had an issue with the fact that it wasn't fully decompressed when it was disengaged.. so i bought an aftermarket one and now the space is back to normal and it feels amazing! Great mod

I just ran a helper spring. (Which was a nightmare btw). The spring helps with the tension and finding the engagement point is slightly better. But don't expect it to fully fix the rough shifting from 1st to 2nd. The assembly is your best bet.

Another help, believe it or not, is changing out the trans oil. I went with Redline MT 85 and it greatly improved shifting.
