So my car has been grinding into 5th and 6th gear for a while now and decided to go to the dealer. They looked at the car and confirmed the issue. So the service writer comes up to me and says the technician looked at your car and it probably wont be covered under warranty. I asked and for what reason is it not covered? He looks at me blankly and says i dont know :icon14:
so i say your basically telling me since i only have 5k miles left under warranty to get lost and come back when my warranty is gone right? He replies with well yea your mileage is getting up there. Told him your lucky my lunch break is over, ill be back tomorrow where ill have all day to talk.

Ended up calling the service manager and he just downplayed the scenario. :shakes head:

Yea, don't take no for an answer. There are other threads here about how to deal with stupid service reps.

warranty is warranty, does your invoice state they confirmed the complain with the mileage? If so they are stuck, even if your mileage runs out, you need it on paper stating they confirmed the complaint, if they still deny coverage, tell them you need to speak to the district parts and service manager and you are going to have to call Nissan if this is not resolved.

Yep ensure you have their confirmation of observing the issue you brought to them in writing with the mileage.

I had a Wrangler Rubicon and Jeep knows that these are tough machines with numerous issues such as their clutch.
With 5k miles I would get this noise when shifting between 5th and 6th gears and i brought it back 5x times to get the same answer..."it's a Jeep thing".
I asked to know when the factory rep visited the dealership (most companies send them out on request) and we met that day, he said I needed a new clutch when all 3 rep, me and the service manager went for a ride...this MOFO (service manager) said..I never heard that noise...grr well I had it fixed, good luck and stick to your guns :driving:

I always had those kinds of issues with Toyota and BMW. They would feed me a bunch of BS just so they wouldn't have to repair under warranty. Good luck OP

Don't call the service manager go straight to the GM. At least this will tell you what kind of dealership you are dealing with by what he will do for you. Sorry to hear about the problem and hope things get worked out.
