Touring vs Sports package
I wonder what the difference is between these cars as a local dealer has them proced at $31k for base, $34K for Sportspackage and $42K for touring package.
I have the 2010 370Z base. Personally, because I do not race, and figure that 99% of my driving would not use the extras that come with the sports package in any meaningful way. Its the Touring that I am wondering about. |

Sports package will have better resale than the base. And you'll absolutely notice the tires, brakes and especially the LSD. And hopefully that $42k is for touring/sport/nav, otherwise it's attempted rape.

Are you sure that's not a Nismo that is actually listed? The price spread for a Touring is way, way too high. Even the Nissan site lists the Touring at ~$36,000. Even if you throw on the Nav Package that is only available on the Touring, that's still just $2000 more up to ~$38,000.
The Sport package gives some upgrades that are worth the money if you want them. But things like the rear spoiler, bigger/cooler wheels, SynchroRev Match, and brakes are all good bargains that will be useful even with daily driving. Hell, I honestly think the spoiler and Rev Match are worth the package price alone...I want every car to Rev Match now. Touring is all about the interior. Leather/power/heated seats, beefed up autodimming mirror, upgraded audio, bluetooth and built-in sat radio. It also opens up the navigation package add-on, though many don't get that one. This is usually also considered a good upgrade for the money. Those seats alone really cover the price. |

The Touring package is basically a "luxury" option and doesn't have much to do with performance. You get better interior, heated seats, Bose audio (6-CD changer), &c.
It boils down to: do you like the amenities that come with the Touring option enough to spend the extra bucks. In my case, the answer was yes. YMMV And, as per Chuck33079, $42k is outrageous unless it's a Touring + Sport with all the other options (eg, Nav).

I get what you are saying, that the Sports Package is worth it. However, the color is a bright red and I prefer anything over that color.
They offered me the black 2014 Base coupe for my 2010 Black base coupe with 38K miles plus $9000. I asked for advice elsewhere on the forum and everyone said that I would be crazy to want to get essentially the same car and pay $9K extra. |

Sports package is well worth it IMO... Touring is a matter of personal preference. For me, the only things I really hate about the interior of my Nismo are the shitty quality sound system and lack of a backup camera (both of those problems have since been addressed with the later models). I don't care about leather, heated power seats, sat-nav, or anything of that sort. Bluetooth and an iPod dock would have been nice though.

what boils down to is preference and what you want to spend. for me i hate leather and was doing my own stereo/nav anyway since OEM sucks so went base/sport pkg

I have the sport, touring, Nav and the sports package is essentially free considering the value of what you get.
The touring is for comfort and figured I'd never end up on a track, being as old as I am, I'd like the creature comforts. And I do, but I am at the track and would like to dump the 100 lbs at the track but only then. The Nav was considered useless the day I bought it but I have learned to like it quite a bit. The music box feature being my 6 CD replacement. I bought my Z brand new with 7 cars to choose from. With 2011 looming the 2009 had to go and I paid $32,900 fully loaded vs $40,000 plus.
