Is it fun to drive? yeah provided it doesn't randomly leave you stranded. Is it built better quality than a mustang? no, no it isn't. Granted all of these issues are fixable, most cost a pretty penny but the z was for sale to the same crowd the mustang 5.0 was available to at around the same price. The reason they are exclusive is because Nissan couldn't sell them. Props to Nissan for making a beautiful car but props to Ford for knowing how to sell one.

I agree with Kenchan. Have you put yourself in the other guy's shoes to try and see what he's thinking? Maybe even ask him?

If you want it, do it. This forum will be biased against the Mustang, of course, but it's still a great car. I had one for a while and loved it.

Not exactly in that order, but I've had a handful of Zs & Mustangs so if anyone knows about this subject it's me.

I have driven both - there is no comparison between the two cars, IMHO. One is muscular brawn and the other is agile finesse.
I guess it depends on what you want. I know what I want. ![]()

FWIW I'm just speaking generally (if you want a Mustang, get one.) Not necessarily comfortable with buying someone's modded car, though.

The 5.0 Coyote is hands down the best bang for the buck car you can buy as far as power. It also handles reasonably well in stock trim for a car with a solid rear axle (hands-down better than the 04 and earlier, Terminator Cobra excluded). I'd say drive it and if you like it, go for it. Mods are cheap and plentiful, and you'll have way more options than you did with the Z.
Back in January, I almost bought a 2011 5.0 6-speed instead of my NISMO... it was 2 years newer, 15k less mileage, and 2k cheaper. But I just didn't want another Mustang after testing the Z. It's head and shoulders above the SS Camaro and FR-S I looked at though.

I'm not going to add anything new here, and I'm certainly going to be projecting myself into this, but I also see a Mustang at every intersection. And while I appreciate the low rumble of tasteful 5.0s, you do have to understand you'll be living with that every mile you drive it on the road (preferably straighter than better). At least the Z gets out of the way when I want it to.
I see many more Zs on the road this season, but I still get excited and try my best to give a wave or thumbs up when I can. And it's still far lower than any of its competitors except maybe EVOs or recent STIs. Also, the Z attracts normal people. The modded Mustang is going to attract only sausage. That's just me. ![]() |

Normal people? You must not attend ZDayZ.

Yeah I just couldn't stand the frs man I think that's only because the lack of power though. If I do end up trading I have a feeling I'll miss the z I'll be honest. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the open mindedness here on the forum not a lot of flame being spread even though everyone's preference here is obv going to be 370z. Lots of valid points being made.
And to the point of buying a modded car I guess I look at it like long tubes are what I would do anyways with an exhaust so any money I can save there doesn't bother me. And a boss 302 manifold is pretty common for those cars too. I guess at least they are tasteful mods. I absolutely won't buy a car where an after market alarm Or really anything electrical was done after market. That is always a huge mess.
