I'd drive one of these as my DD if the price was right (I'm sure it won't be)

i rented the new sentra in toronto a couple of weeks back on a biz trip.
honestly it wasn't bad! it drove like a much larger car, was stable on the expressway too... drove it through sunny to raining frikken cats and dogs and taffyapples that day. car did well. only thing i didnt like was that it was one of the cheaper trims so limited accessories. but it's a rental so cant ask for much. and cvt sucksarse. |

if having a nismo is that special to you, that's great. but this thing about 'true authenticity' status is really just in your head. there are parts out there that will easily make a base better than a factory built car. that you must accept. |

Don't get me wrong...there are a lot of beautiful Z's out there that were converted from base/sports models.....My good friend SIMOTA is one of them out here on the island....Some may argue that there are other Z's out there that look better or might even outperform the Nismo...but it's still not an authentic Nismo....Compare the blue books and that's where you'll see the difference.

Your argument that there are parts out there that will easily make a base better than a factory car....I agree...I accept that you can build a car to out perform a factory one....but my argument is that it's still not a Nismo. You could also turn around and build a factory Nismo to outperform other Nismo's or Base or Sports/Sports-Touring package Z's.... For clarification...When I posted "True Enthusiasts" I was referring to those into the "Nismo" model/brand....there is no doubt that we are all enthusiast of the Z here....that's why we either owned or own one. Just like the 40th Anniversary you could take a base model and make it look exactly like a 40th Anniversary...buy the chairs, emblems, match the paint, Rims, but when it's all said and done it's simply just a replica.....the true authenticity isn't there it won't and will never be a 40th Anniversary Z. The truth will come out when you run the VIN. I'm not downgrading the other models...or saying that the Nismo is better than the other models...What I'm stating is that it is what it is...A Nismo....It's obvious that the Z's come in different models in order to match different styles, budgets, and needs of the drivers or potential owners....If that wasn't the case then all Z's would come in one model....

Im no Nismo hater, actually I do like them. However, the authenticity label looks like it has been removed by Nissan themselves, they are putting the Nismo badge and authenticity as we can see on all their rides now. Shame really..

We get ragged on about spending the extra money for a Nismo on here, but you'll see on other car forums they laugh at Z owners in general because they feel the performance of a 370z doesn't match its price tag. So we all get bashed in some form or another.

I guess Nissan didn't learn from Chevy when they said they were going to stop making everything into an "SS".
