I bought their cooler nearly 5 years ago. I had a great experience. I don't know what their current situation is, but I read a post where one person was having issues with refunds. The word bankruptcy was used.

I use this as an example that service is important to me. I'll edit my post so others don't make the same assumption.

The section now reads: (EDIT: Some people have brought to my attention that in the five years since, GTM hasn't held up to the level I experienced way back. That is unfortunate and I maintain that, to my point, service and standing behind your product matters, whether you are Nissan, GTM, GM, BMW or LG).

That sucks to hear man. I myself have had decent luck with Nissans, which is to say that I have never had one that caused me enough grief that I would have to call Nissan themselves to try to get it fixed. I can consider myself lucky on that score.

To turn the discussion toward a more positive (hopefully) direction, any idea what vehicle you would like to replace the Z with? I realize that this could turn this thread into a firestorm, but I am just curious as to whether or not you had any other cars picked out?

I spent many years in the consumer electronics industry. There were always some customers that had nothing but trouble with anything that they bought. My unscientific theory, which was as good as anything else I guess, is that some people give off some kind of weird field that has negative effects on electronic and mechanical things. You know how smoke from a campfire seems to follow you sometimes regardless of the wind direction ? Like there is something in your system that attracts the smoke molecules ? Maybe the same unknown and unmeasurable vibe is given off that wrecks things and that's why the OP had so much trouble.

I love my Porsches, the customer support is second to none. I called and said I had some fuild under my 911, a flat bed came out they rolled the car out of the garage put it on the flat bed took it in to the dealership. Gave me a ride then a 911 loaner. I should say its a used car, but man they treat you good. Not one penny out of pocket. On my CPO I have 80k waranties on both cars. that includes road side assistance etc etc etc. If I can afford to keep buying Porsches in the future I will do so.

I will note that they couldn't find anything wrong with it........long story short it was actually coming from another vehicle that I had parked there the day before and didn't notice it leaked. Figured it out the next day when my Jeep leaked on the other side of the garage........

Strange you should ask. But actually, yes. Tesla Model S P85+.

Tesla is a company that, when a very few freak accidents caused the batteries to catch fire, the company not only put a titanium shield under the car, but put one one every Model S previously produced, free of charge to the owners and updated the software of all Model S cars, wirelessly, over night, without anyone going to a dealership so the car rides a few mm higher. The chance of that happening is now statistically impossible. That is a company that stands behind their product 1000% and exactly what I care about.

I have zero issues regarding range anxiety. 200+ miles is more than enough for my 40 mile daily commute. It goes like stink, is very luxurious, and has room for the future family.

Which Porsche do you have?..I'm looking at 991s, Vette C7s, and Tesla Model S 85s....If you got the 911, would you say it's a reliable car?
