I'm sorry you feel like you wasted your time reading my post. However, those replying with things like, "I've never had problems with my Nissan." or "You will have problems with xyz (or any) brand." or "A lot of people have had these problems." or "I got those covered under warranty." missed my point completely.

The point isn't that I've had problems, it's that Nissan responded poorly. As I said in my original post, I have no issues with having a mass produced, and early production car that has some issues. It's the consistently poor response (or none in the case of the steering wheel lock) from Nissan.

As I also said in my original post and subsequent posts, everyone's experience will inform them differently and I hope that you have had a better experience. I've owned lots of cars of various makes with various problems. It's the way that issues are handled that matters to me. The Z is a fairly good car, but it's let down by a company that won't stand behind it.

I understand the feeling. I wonder if the poor response was a Nissan thing, a dealer thing, or a problem with one particular regional service rep. My wife's last Murano had a problem with a TPMS sensor. The dealer blew her off twice so I called the regional rep as listed in the manual. That got action, and damn quick. Dealer called back promptly, scheduled an appointment and replaced the sensor. I got like two phone calls and a followup letter from Nissan after that with them wanting to make sure the issue was resolved.

I don't think that's a pass for Nissan. Canned or not, these are the people they chose to work the front lines to represent the company.

I'm all for customer satisfaction. Whether it's a $5 widget or a 30+ thousand sports car.
If a customer is not happy and the issues are real, then Nissan should make the customer happy/satisfied. Treating people like they actually matter goes a LONG way towards brand loyalty. If Nissan had treated the OP like he actually mattered in the first place, this entire thread would not exist.

LMAO, not to be racist, more factual; those are people in India who just want a job. They didn't CHOOSE a damn thing, they are lucky to not have a shitty job like your standard Indian would

I haven't read any responses but. The 2009 had many a problems from oil consumption to things not working as well as they should, transmission getting clicky. The 2011 I had felt like it had no problems and felt well sorted. I won't ever buy a first year car anymore haha. I will wait 3 years so I don't have to be a beta tester for a car.

My brother now owns the 2011 and it is still running great!

So you're saying that Nissan didn't choose to hire them and were forced to? Right...offshore or onshore, the company CHOSE to hire the employees.

Also every time I've called they've sounded American (unlike HP customer support). Unlike others, I don't yell and throw a temper tantrum over the phone. they already don't care, so what's yelling going to accomplish?

Yo, man disregard the dismissive posts! Nissan has a real problem with their customer service and reliability.

Check out my thread:

Cracked Head Gasket

Brand new car with a failed engine, a year later its still not repaired right and their repair caused numerous new issues. Not only is Nissan non-helpful, but the dealership is downright criminal and constantly try to nickel and dime me for things that should be warranty repairs cut and dry.

Anyone reading this and thinking about pulling the plug and buying a Nissan I HIGHLY encourage you to reconsider!
