Default Question about Nismo Front Fascia

Hello. I was hoping the community could help answer a question for me.

I own a 2014 370Z Touring Coupe. I'm seriously thinking about converting the exterior to be the full NISMO body design.

There is something I wish to consider first however... My 370Z also has the aerodynamic option, so there is a black plastic "air dam" that runs under the entire length of the front bumper. I believe the official name for it is Front Chin Spoiler. From time to time, when backing out my driveway, I've slightly scraped this plastic part on the driveway apron. Maybe 2 centimeters of it at most... and only the lowermost "fangs" area of it. At no time does the actual painted bumper ever come anywhere near the driveway.

Would the NISMO Front Fascia be in danger of scraping my driveway if the current Front Chin Spoiler does it a little? Or is the NISMO part high enough to not worry about it? Just for the record, I do not have the Z "lowered" (and have no intention to ever do it).

If worst comes to worst, I could have my driveway apron redone before doing the NISMO conversion, but I thought I should ask first.

Thank you in advance for the input.

I just measured my car and the lowest part of the splitter, on the two spots below the headlights, its 4 and 3/8" off the ground. The tip of the splitter sticks out 35.5" past the center of the wheel.

I'm not sure if you can buy the Nismo bodywork without a matching VIN for repair parts, although maybe you could luck out at a junkyard off of cars wrecked at just one end. Keep in mind it's not just the bumper itself that's different in the front. To convert the front you have to convert the undertray stuff beneath the engine bay as well, and probably several other miscellaneous related bits.

Thank you! That's exactly the info I needed.

Hmm... the lowest part of the air dam is currently 4 and 1/2" off the ground... so it's probably best to just play it safe and get my driveway apron redone first. No point in cheapening out on an $800 concrete job, when I'm going to spend over five times that much for the conversion.

Yea. There's a lot of parts swapping involved, somewhere in the ballpark of $4000 worth with shipping and whatnot. I've also got those DRL that the NISMO doesn't, so that's gotta be removed as well.

However the price is still cheaper than something like a VeilSide... and I believe the OEM NISMO parts are sturdier than the FRP of most aftermarket bodykits (and doesn't use 3M tape).

I really disliked the interior of the NISMO, so I didn't get one... but I really, really like it's exterior. I've saved up some disposable cash over the months, and figured I'd spoil myself (and the Z) with something like this.

Very interesting. I didn't know you can't get the nismo parts without the vin match. I just ordered nismo front bumper to replace my old one. But I forgot if the seller asked me about the vin number or not. Lol. Probably didn't. But I am sure one of the Nissan dealership asked my vin tho.

Yes Nismo conversion is very costly. Not sure if you are interested in used or slightly damaged new nismo front bumper. It's possible I will have 2 nismo front for sale.

When I got my rear bumper hit the dealership allowed me to replace with a Nismo OEM rear.
Not sure how they did it but they said it was no problem, they have also done front bumper for others also that do not own a Nismo.

So the vin does tell you if it's a nismo or not?

Yup I've seen the dealer install oem nismo body parts for a non-nismo.
