I lasted 4 1/2 years....even reinlisted once! My body decided to have a seizure on active duty and back in '92/'93 they had that Early Out program. Well, I was an E-4, a dime a dozen......I was put on TDRL (Temp. Disability Retirement List) and about a year later was called back to active duty for a medical re-evaluation.

The whole eval lasted 5 minutes. Doc says he doesn't see why I shouldn't be allowed back in. He recommends it. Less than 30 days later I get a package from Randolph AFB in Texas.....I was denied. Got $8K and that was the end of my military career.

Congrats on getting into BC and on the car. Don't crash it on the Pike and stay away from the ice.

Three things that will get you through college with your life and your car.

1. No matter how 'straight' you feel, never ever drive the car after you've been drinking. Not even after a sip, better safe than sorry.

2. The car looks fast, magazines say the car is fast, you aren't doing anyone any favors by trying to prove anybody right or wrong. Besides if you're going too fast the girls can't see you flossin'

3. Don't let anyone drive your car, as close as you may feel to the people you associate with in college, no one is that close of a friend. You don't know him/her regardless of how many "I love you man's" or "we're totally gonna graduate and get a place together and be friends forever" you share after a bender.

Other than that, demonstrate the same intelligence and responsibility that got you into BC and you should be just fine. Congrats again!
Best advice by far...

Forget the cost of the car. How much does it cost to insure a 370Z driven by a 17-year-old in Boston?

Though I suppose that, as far as the ins co is concerned, the car might be somewhere else being driven by someone else.

There's another 370z owner that's 17 I believe and he's from chicago.

Grats on getting into a good school, looks like most of the advise has already been given. If you didn't get the 101 course from the book when you got the car, make sure you fill up with premium every time. Keep up with the maintenance on it, that means oil changes, tire rotations, and even a good bath once and a while. Don't drink and drive (EVER) and if you have to drive a drunk buddy home one night, the beer goes before he gets in the car. No matter how much fun anyone else thinks it is, it's your car to take care of so don't let them get you into trouble with it.

And finally the best advise I can give, ENJOY the car. Take time to stare at it once in a while just to see how nice it is =)
