Need advice on trade in

It's going to be an interesting afternoon that's for sure. The only thing i will accept is an upgrade. No trade in for a new car or any other bs.

It's going to be an interesting afternoon that's for sure. The only thing i will accept is an upgrade. No trade in for a new car or any other bs. I didn't void the warranty just so I could come get the same car with warranty again. Also they know who I am and they know my Z. It's one of their fav cars to see in the service dept. Also, this is the first time they called me with such an offer since I first got the car. Previously they had 2 free oil changes, which I passed onto my moms infiniti (they didn't care).

And I was a little confused about the date I guess, it is on Monday in a week.

Anyways, if anyone has something to say, good or bad, say it! There's already been a few very helpful people here, to whom I owe many thanks

Either way, it will be a good experience dealing with the sales guy. But I'm here hoping I get the hot blondie though. At least she entertains me with her assets every time I visit.

Edit: it may help to add that when I first walked in to buy my car, they all laughed at me saying "you'll never afford it" ... Fast forward to 3 hours later and I was burning rubber into the managers face on my way out. They won't make that mistake twice haha

Not to be a real prick but with 7 years financing on your car... you really couldn't. Making payments doesn't mean you can afford it and being able to truly afford something doesn't mean you should buy it. Of course I wasn't this wise at 26 either so learn from the older guys on the board.
Streetlife, b15, DjSquall and 1 others like this.

Your goal of this trip shouldn't be to somehow buy a GTR. Aim lower. Shoot for getting the keys to one for a test drive.

I've already had the opportunities to drive it both stock and with the Switzer P800 package. Also I've been lucky enough to drive a Lamborgini Gallardo (my other dream car). My taste has been shifting more towards the GTR than the Lambo lately. The GTR is a lot more useful.

But also thanks to your and Ubetit's comments, I'm now leaning towards just a ball busting session. No matter what happens, I'll be sure to post it down so everyone can have a good giggle!

P.S. I'll be also asking your guys' opinion before I agree to anything. (Other than my free oil change)

Edit: the other me in me is trying to say: is a dream car really worth it right now? You guys both speak from experience, which I obviously don't have much of. This is one of the major reasons for why I've come for advice.

you're putting too much thought into this. just go in there and talk. you're going to a car dealership, not some executive level meeting to talk multi-million dollar transactions.

They don't have to know this and it would still be fun to play with one for a half hour while your oil gets changed. You don't have to tell them the truth.

I will definitely try. But from what my friend tells me, they rarely let test drives happen without a purchase. But I'll play the "then why should I buy it if I don't even know what I'm getting" card.

YOLO in this situation. I did 6 years financing on mine but expect to pay it off within 3-4 years. Sure I could've waited, but I'm 26 now and recently got out of a relationship. Figured it was my last chance to get back into a sports car before marriage.

I guess if you're financially stable and decent at managing your own money...go for it!

They'll probably run checks to see if you can actually afford it first. A long time ago I went to go test drive a STi but they wanted to run a credit check on me first and see if I can get approved for a loan first.
