I said yes but feel sick to my stomach about it. It's going to be a long two and a half weeks until this is over!

if he ever wants to drive the car ever again, this opportunity should convince him not to drink and drive on prom night.
I would give this opportunity to my son in a heart beat, he would remember it forever. I would just make sure that he drives it before the big night so that he is comfortable with the car when he goes on his own. |

He is a great kid and student (unlike me) so I couldn't say no. I don't have to worry about this one drinking, we leave him home for weekend all the time and have never had one problem and I have neighbors that keep an eye on him. Since the car is supercharged I have a tune on it just in case this happened (4000 rpm and 60 mph) but it's still my car with a kid driving it. I need another drink!

Personally I think this is a bad move in so many ways & it's not about the car not being replaceable, sometimes bad decisions are made without ever knowing how bad they are Good luck to all involved Definitely make sure you get him comfortable with the car & hopefully he will act responsible

You sound like a good father. I understand your anxiety...I remember the first time I let my son take my Harley. I'll bet your son doesn't let you down on this.

My first question was " you haven't pissed anyone off enough to key my car have you?" But that's just not him. He been getting up at 4 am to go to football conditioning, doing track practice after school and doing homework until 11-12 at night so he doesn't have time to be in trouble.

Well...if it makes you feel any better, it's REALLY difficult to have sex in the Z, so at least it'll be clean of bodily fluids?
