yah, the standard RE050A does okay for the most part.
RE050A PolePosition was a big improvement vs the standard RE050A... but today, the S04's are huge improvement from both RE050A and RE050A PP's. |

Shoulda left the winters on a little bit longer. I'm much further south than you and have yet to make the switch.
I was planning on making the switch on Saturday but all the rain prevented me from doing so. Which ended up being a good thing because I got caught out in that freak snow storm yesterday getting groceries. Barely raining on my way in to snowing like crazy and a couple of inches of slush on the road on my way out. wth mother nature. |

I got caught out in the same storm, on summers... Did not fare well.
Glad to hear you only need to replace a wheel though.

Yeah I took it to a tire shop although I am holding pressure the wheel is digging into the sidewall now. And they don't make Bridgestone potenza re760 anymore. Is it ok to put a similar tread pattern but different brand (like hankook) on?

update:
I took it to the tire shop and they dismounted, sanded the part where it was digging in, mounted and they said it was fine they put it on their balancing machine and tested and they said it is fine to drive on but looks ugly I do hear a little bit more road noise at higher speeds (60+) (might be out of alignment?) I might get another wheel but luckily my tire is fine and I can still drive on this for now, I will get my alignment checked also also i am never driving in snow on summer tires again I thought I could swing it once and learned the hard way btw its like 44 degrees and roads are clear now Last edited by kittens; 03-31-2014 at 02:07 PM. |

I dont see why anyone even swapped tires yet, anyway. This week is the first week we'll have north of 60 for every day of the week (so far), and even THEN, the colds will be in the 40s.
What's the rush? I won't even bother driving my car on summers when temps are south of 50 or so. Summer tires are **** below there, until they are warmed up, which certainly isn't going to happen in the rain/sleet.
