I seriously can't believe the amount of people here that chastised OP for hitting a dog that ran out in front of him at night...Go over to the PETA forums instead. OP it's only a dog. I'm glad you're okay and I'm sorry about your car. You're a good guy for taking the dog to the hospital.

I care about my car more than any animals ( without owner ) which run across the street that I hit.  Accident happens, and this is not a PETA forum.
