Is that a real body kit or just concept? I like it, has a sorta gtr feel to it. Targa top looks good too, but the only downside of it is nissan would have to figure out where you would put it in the trunk which clearly right now there isnt even close to enough space.

T tops
T tops.
The discussion about body flex, lesser handling, etc is in our heads from years of reading and hearing it from others (I belief too - eg. Boxter vs Cayman slalom) . I had the 300 ZX tt which had the sport suspension, HICAS, vs non turbo convertible to choose from in 1995. So it was a simple choice: I had always wanted a rag top, but the t tops on the twin turbo gave me the best of both worlds. It turns out my gal hates the wind and sun on her face, so I could run with only the drivers side top removed. While not perfect, a compromise we could both live with. Re scratching T tops: I was always carful to painstakingly put them in their supplied pouches, then strap them down. Maybe two minutes for both. Since I used the same care I always give my cars, I never had a scratch. Biggest draw back to t tops: Poor storage option. Once I got to the store I had to put them back on to get the groceries in the trunk. My buddy had a Honda "Del Sol" which had a place in trunk lid that accepted the hard top. Then he could still use the trunk for something. Hats off to Honda engineers.

I'd trade up for a retractable glass-top targa similar to what Porsche uses in the 911 if it was reasonably priced. I just don't think Nissan could ever justify the cost to engineer it for the quantity that they would expect to sell.

My first NSX had an after market sunroof, and the MR-2 had glass T-tops, and while I rarely (never?) opened them, I really like a glass roof.
I think a large glass moonroof (self darkening, of course) or a glass Targa would be nice. Solid removable panels like newer NSX aren't as attractive to me. A folding hard top or flipping, ala Ferrari Superamerica, would be really neat. |

A targa would be kool as long as they can design it without losing rigidity. I prefer the idea of a targa over the convertible. The Z just doesn't scream convert to me. Hell no on T-tops.
