What is the fix? I read about it being a con for this car.The base radio goes to level 13 at 60mph. Is there suspension bushings, sound mats, or certain tires

Switching from the OEM Potenza RE050A's to Potenza S04's made all the difference for me. I'm told that the Pilot Super Sports do even a little better.

I installed some sound damping material in the hatch area of my Z and it made a big difference. Tires can make a difference. Softer bushings would probably make the handling sloppy.

+1. Even the Ventus V12s I have are a lot more quieter than the stock Bridgestones.

Cabin noise

I dynamatted the doors & hatch (took me about 3 1/2 hrs) and it has helped. I'm fine with the car at this noise level but will change my tires to the Super Sports when the originals wear down a little more.

Hopefully I did this right, above is a link about cabin noise. There is also a DIY somewhere about it.

My Continental DWS are much quieter but still the cabin is noisy. Oh well, it would be nice to have G37 quiet but I didn't want a G37, I wanted a Z. I think I can live with it .

I recently picked up the pilot super sports, road noise is better, but it is still very present. I think dynomat or whatever sound proofing material is suggested would make a more significant change. I haven't gotten to that step yet.

x2

This won't make it Lexus quiet, but it does eliminate the 'hollowness' of the Z. Before I did it, the hatch sounded like a tin can when the wheels kicked up small rocks. Afterwards the tin can noise was eliminated.

Dynamatted hatch and doors. Installed 2" foam in hatch. Replaced Yoko tires with Pilot Super Sports. Noise is down about 6 dB. Still sounds gravely on smooth asphalt and harsher sounding on grooved concrete slabs.

I checked the firewall and there is factory 3/8" pad that goes under seats.

I think some the noise is coming through door seals (they are good and tight).

Too bad more can be done to cut the noise.

dynamatt the front kick panels too, that helps get rid of noise from the front tires. Stock, there is nothing there at all. Just take them off and place the dynamatt right on them.
