Red Light Accident
 

So this is how my night went...

I was at a red light, soon to be green, when a lady rear ends me. Tried to talk to her but could not understand what she was saying. She seemed to be fine but def not with it. I called the police to report the accident.

They determined she was under the influence. Theres a dent in the bumper and a bunch of scratches. Accident could be worse but after babying the car for 7 months it sucks to see this happen. First time attaching pictures so hopefully it works. What do you guys think? will they just try to fix the dent and paint the bumper or will i get a new one? It'll suck knowing it was repaired if thats the case.

Yeah they'll be checking it out Saturday!

They will have to remove the bumper and inspect for further damage like the foam or crash bar then replace and paint the new bumper.

Damn. That sucks man :/ can't you file for depreciation too? I read about that somewhere.

Bummer & glad no one was hurt. Stupid people driving under the influence. Hope she was insured and the claim goes well for you!

Stick with the OEM rear and be different.

I doubt if they will try to repair the bumper cover. Shortly after I got my Z someone backed into me and put a small dent/scratch in the rear bumper cover. My comprehensive covered a new bumper cover. Looked repairable to me but I wasn't going to argue with them. ;)

Sorry to hear that, they will most likely get you a new bumper and like DEpointfiveO mentioned check ur tailights just to be sure

Similar thing happened to me 90 days after purchase. They repaired mine as it as very small but replace the foam. The insurance of the other driver offered me cash or repair. I had them repair it. Good luck with your repairs and hope it goes smoothly.

Ain't no fixin' that bumper....

I took a look at the taillights this morning before work. They feel loose and squeak a bit. The passenger side one more than the other. Ill make sure they take a look at them Saturday. Thanks for the heads up.

I looked it up and its called a diminishing value claim. I will try for it and see how it goes.

Called to see if the police report was ready since i was unable to get any of the ladies information. (She was arrested as soon as the officer arrived). When i asked to see if the report was ready the lady at the station told me it must have been at the end of the officers shift cuz he did not finish the report and he won't be on duty again until Saturday..
How do they now finish a report when all the information is present.
