Default Fuel hole "flipper" question.

I am not sure what's it's called, but on other most cars I know, there's a "flip" blocking the fuel hole if you are not filling the gas and flip opens when you put the pump into the fuel hole. But somehow it doesn't exist on the 370z?

Not sure if it's just my car but want to make sure others are the same.

Thanks in advance

Oh, it exists.

Tonight I was filling up and didn't push the fuel nozzle in far enough. Gas went all over the side of my car. Always be sure to push the fuel nozzle in or you'll get a nasty surprise like I did.

Just checked my fuel tank,

It seems like the fuel flipper broke. I no longer have that flipper in the hole.

Take a look:

The two red I circle indicates that the flip should be there. I might be wrong.

Do you think it will cover by warrenty?

Tried to google it. Suppose some cars have the Gas tank metal flapper and apparently, the newer cars don't.

Can anyone else confirm that their 370z has it or not?

actually, in order for the "flipper" to open, a nozzle has to be inserted into the hole.

With that said, the two marks in the picture above, is probably the release button to make the flipper open up. (if there's a "flipper").

the fords are like that, you can see two little notches in the nozzle entrance and thats what opens up their internal cover.

Mine has one, and it's visible. Unfortunately, I'm on vacation right now and nowhere near my car, or I'd go take a pic for you.

Mine is exactly what you describe.

Can anyone take a pictures "with" the flapper to confirm?

I can confirm that there is no metal flap. I'm surprised that there is none being from the most emissions controlled state California.
