Any ideas for the "Non Touring" fake switches?
My only complaint with not ordering the car without the Touring Package is Nissan's lack of effort to remove the three switches reserved for heated seats from the base models. Has anyone come up with any alterations or figured out a way to eliminate the switches without it looking any tackier than it already is? Maybe I can turn the space into a change holder or apply some type of eject label to tease my girlfriend with! Thanks.

Wondering the same thing, I didn't even notice it at first cus when I purchased my car it was the first time I sat in a non-touring model. I dunno if much is possible, but I'd love to hear some ideas.

I saw Division's post on here that has the Escort/passport remote switch in there and it looked great. Then you could use a second one for your subwoofer volume knob. ( if you throw a sub in ) The 3rd......not sure yet. I will think of something.
Here was his radar detector post, http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...light=passport |
The remote switch for a radar detector is a great idea. I'm sure I could order the real switches from Nissan parts and insert them in the proper holes and pretend I have heated seats. That is assuming the fake switches can be popped out? Cannot live without the Sport Package but figured I'd survive without the Touring. Will visit the dealer tomorrow and play around with the Base interior. My 2010 order will not go out until Tuesday so I can still change my mind and get the Touring version for an additional $3800. That's alot of money for a couple of plastic switches : )

Good post...the three blank switches in the Base are among my biggest gripes.
In time, I might just buy a spare console to experiment with. I'm thinking about filling the area with perhaps a bondo-ish material, sanding everything down smooth, then covering the entire piece with suede/Alcantara (along with other pieces). Or I'll put three NOS switches. |
Having popped them all out already, they do pop out- and quite easily. If you want to pull them out- grab the cupholder, and pull straight up. There are 2 tabs holding each in. Remember, they are directional, if you take em out- mark the side facing front.

There is a company in Germany that makes aluminum parts/covers for the 350, they don't show any 370 stuff yet. Something like this, that would stick with double sided tape after removing the dummy switches would be cool. Different engravings are available from them, 370Z would look nice.

antennahead, like your idea very much. Checked out the company's web site and they have some nice accessories. Hopefully they will get the 370Z process rolling in the near future. Thanks.

If anyone has communication difficulties with a German company or other contact, I can help with translations/interpretations.
As long as you donīt exchange bible-size mails, that is... |
Personally I would go with:
Easy Panic Eject Seems to cover it all... |
I liked what I saw on the Pogiparts homepage.
Contacted them to see if and when they will do parts for the 370. I`ll keep you posted. |
Is the Z out in Germany yet? May be why they have not created anything for the 370z yet. Sort of like this one, does not have the dots for the 350z and might match out interior (not 100% sure).
