Two-toned leather, pics inside!
This thread is a follow-up to my one from last week called "Nightmarish Story (with happy ending)".
In it, I explained how badly I had gotten screwed over a couple times and missed out on the touring model I was about to buy. Instead, I got the base and had Nissan do a custom leather job for me. In the end, I am soooo happy I missed the touring because whatever upholstery place Nissan sent my car to did a fantastic job. It cost me plenty, and I most likely paid more than I should have since I went thru Nissan, but I'm thrilled with the results. They used a great leather and two-toned it with a grey suede that matches the platinum graphite perfectly. They also put that same suede (non-perferated of course) on the door panels. The stitching is done using they same grey and really brings it all together. These pics make the grey look lighter than it really is; I will try to take more when it's not so sunny. Let me know what you think! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: Added pics from inside the garage. Pic qualtiy sucks (iPhone) but it gives the grey a more true color, since the sun brightened the pics too much. Last edited by IHas370Z?; 09-05-2009 at 09:58 PM. |

Lol, I mean it wasn't a totally terrible price. I'll put it this way, after this custom job (leather, suede panels, etc.), and an aftermarket nav/sound system/backup cam setup installed by Matt (bigaudiofanat), I will STILL be saving money over the touring + nav model. To me, that's a big win. |

Looks real nice man, I thought I was going to install aftermarket leather in the first couple of weeks of owning the car. I truly am amazed that I actually like the way the stock cloth and stitching looks. I think I will keep it this way for awhile, do the audio upgrades first then slap in the leather.

Like I said, bigaudiofanat is going to install a great sound system for me soon, including amp and sub. I'll probably buy the auto-dimming mirror soon as well as aluminum pedals when a decent set come out so pretty much the only thing I lose is power/heated seats, definitely something I can live without. Thanks for the comments SlikNik. Last edited by IHas370Z?; 09-04-2009 at 08:39 PM. |

That's very nice. The leather looks to be of higher quality than stock, too. It appears your seats are a little more padded than the Touring ones. Overall, I'd say you have a very nice Z there.

Thank you for the positive comments, they are much appreciated.
The salesman that sold me the car said that everyone that saw it loved it, and as a result they were going to be more adament about offering aftermarket interior work. Then I asked for my cut since I introduced them to a new marketing strategy. Last edited by IHas370Z?; 09-04-2009 at 09:09 PM. |

Leave the car in the sun to shrink the leather. It will naturally smooth itself out. Looks totally custom so its like custom tailored suit versus off the rack... I knew it wasn't a touring right away cuz they don't offer the hotness 2 tone u got. This was my plan as well for when I get my 2010. Looks great! Enjoy it bruh! |

Can you find out the exact colors used, I really like them and would like to re-do my seats/panels in the same color setup or close?
