The difference is that your auto trans has nothing to do with the F1.There is nothing better than a manual, specially with the Z.Make some research about the F1 transmission.

Drag slip times say otherwise.

He's also referring to paddle shifters, not the whole F1 system.

Wow, all 7At vs 6MT thread always end up with lots of pages. It keeps me entertain while I am at work. Thanks guys.

From my observation, I think the younger generations are more bias about their manual transmission than the older one. If some older generations on this board who have been been driving manual all their lives still choose the 7AT over 6MT, then there is got to be a lot of improvement on the 7AT for them to pick that.

Please be open minded and get along.

It's the first traditional "slush bucket" tranny that actually has better acceleration than the manual in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I'm sure there may be others but I haven't seen any. Very impressive.

Look at the CTS-V, same deal. They borrowed the manual from the parts bin and designed the auto specifically for that car- making it the faster option (although, not as significant as the difference in the 370z).

Its hard to answer you when you ask me to break it down further into age group. Reason why I didn't want do it in the first place.

In my opinion, those are people who "have been there, done it" and did it over couple times.

Kannibul you are right on................

'''He's also referring to paddle shifters, not the whole F1 system'

Builders of the most advanced racing machines in the world have figured out that a flick of the finger is much, much faster than a foot depressing a clutch and a throw of the lever.

BTW my other ride is a 4X4 Nissan Frontier king cab pickup with K&N cold air, stainless steel duals with cross over and a ...... 5 speed manual transmission.

Driven manual sports cars all my life (35 Years), road tested the 7sp and with a little persuasion from my wife got the auto. Now after some getting use to the auto in manual mode I would never go back to a manual, absolutely no regrets. Had I have got the manual, I would have been happy with that also.

I think the point that all us auto owners are trying make is that you can no longer say that a sports car has to be a manual.

1 second = 10 deciseconds = 100 centiseconds = 1000 milliseconds

therefore 500 millisecond = .5 second = 1/2 second
