When I lived in Pennsylvania, you had to bring your car into an 'authorized' inspection shop to get the required safety inspection. Of course, this was ostensibly the same shop that would fix any 'violations' that were found. It was the biggest scam on earth! There was no way you were getting out of the shop without at least $300 worth of repairs just to pass this bogus inspection. I now live in Ohio where there are no such inspections.
My dad said that when he was a kid growing up in Chicago, you had to leave a $5 bill on the front seat or you would never pass. It's our government keeping us safe!.... Last edited by welterbf123; 03-16-2014 at 12:50 PM. |
