Would you trade a 370z Base with 37K miles for a Scion 2013 FR-S with 17K miles? The local dealer is offering the Scion FR-S, listed at $2275.

I mean, $2275 is a steal Why not just pay cash for it... LOL jK.
But seriously.. Id take a 370z with 105k over an FRS with 105 miles on it ALL day. There is no comparison. Unless you want to spend 10-30k on the FRS to make it just as fast and as sexy

Agreed. It's a bad deal all around. I'm assuming the OP meant $22750, which means he's buying a used car for $3-4k less than a new one. And getting rid of a car that's better in every single way except cost of ownership.

I say it depends. The VQ engine is very nice and powerful but you will run out of road or exceed the speed limit at 3rd gear. So IMO it's less fun than the FRS which you'll have to work the engine to get power out of it. The FRS is definitely slower though!

So the knock on the Z is that it's too fast to have fun in? That's the best complaint you could have with a vehicle.

I would not trade for a Scion. I am married and straight.

I test drove the FR-S while shopping for the Z. Unfortunately I drove the Z first, so the FR-S was disappointing. The way I see it, you UPGRADE from the FR-S to the Z, not the other way around
Unless you're doing it to get better mileage, lower insurance costs(?), and cheaper maintenance, I'd avoid it. |
