To each his own, but I think the FRS looks like crap. When you're behind one, the skinny tires look like bicycle tires. The styling is sooooo ricey imo. Altezza taillights in 2013/2014??? c'mon! That was sooooo 2000-2001ish. Plus, the profile of the FRS and its Subaru counterpart looks so "skinny." The vertical dimensions of the FRS look like a car from 10+ years ago, a la the 2000ish Celica. It looks like an "Integra competitor" albeit RWD, which is its only plus point imo. And lastly, the power is a joke for 2010+ standards. I don't expect it to have 350+hp...but at least 250 out the box, with its "Honda DOHC VTEC" esque "wuss torque" (6000+ RPM to hit peak).
Again, I'm not trying to flame. The FRS never grew on me. |

I would not trade for a Scion. I am married and straight.

I test drove the FR-S while shopping for the Z. Unfortunately I drove the Z first, so the FR-S was disappointing. The way I see it, you UPGRADE from the FR-S to the Z, not the other way around
![]() Unless you're doing it to get better mileage, lower insurance costs(?), and cheaper maintenance, I'd avoid it. |

Yup. I have a friend that has done just that. Oh and you gotta stop it and turn it as well and get that power to the ground. So you have to boost all the rest. Ultimately he paid way more for his FRS than I did for the Z. But you know, sometimes the fun is the way you get there.

I would not do that trade. Before I bought my z I test drove the hell out of one and was really shocked how slow it was. Handled great but red light driving sucks. Can't pull away from the pack. You will be depressed the rest of your life for getting rid of your z.

No I would not. While it's the Z is not as nimble, the Z can power out of a turn in ways a non-turbo FRS just dreams of.
As the owner of a v6 Camry....this is the truth.... |
