It might be underestimated, but still. I have owned one, given it was older, but still. Japanese and German cars will always edge out an American car on a real track. But the flip side American will for the most part always win on a drag. No replacement for displacement lol.

You can say that Japanese and American cars will always edge an American car out on a real track, but that's not really true. Sure, the Japs and Germans have built a number of cars that are great road-track oriented cars, but so have the Americans. Same goes for drag racing. You say that the Americans have the advantage... but look at what a lot of the Japanese cars are able to do on the strip... and just look at the massive engines that MB stuffs into their performance cars. There are A LOT of misperceptions out there. Don't let yourself get caught up in all of that madness.

BTW this is all the same stuff that I tell the domestic guys that are dead set on believing all imported cars are teh suck. Car ignorance, whether it's from the domestic or import side of the isle, sucks!

It doesn't *feel* as fast as the Z, but it's still pretty quick. You definitely feel the extra size and the extra few hundred pounds. But it's impressive... something like .94G skidpad and a 70mph slalom. Best handling factory Mustang in probably ever.

Oh geeze, stereotyping a whole countries' cars is the worst idea ever. America has TONS of fantastic road cars, and not everything made in Deutschland or Japan will ever be made in gold. There are plenty of poop boxes over there, too.
My favorite? When people mock LSX motors because they use "inferior pushrod power". That pushrod power in my Camaro made 400 WHP N/A and still got me 30 MPG on the thruway. My next favorite? When people use this line: "Well, at least my car makes over xxxHP per liter!" That ones rich...

Deleted my previous post. You're 100% correct. I was not trying to start a typical this car is better than this/ this country makes better. I completely apologize. They all make very road course worthy cars, it just depends on the price range. With that said, my ultimate goal is to have an E36 M3 with and LS2 swap solely for the track. |

Hard to argue with how easy it is to mod those motors, and how well they take them. Not to mention how cheap...

Could you imagine. A ridiculous vert for cruising a nice track car for enjoyment. That would be the life. Better have a daily though if you anywhere with snow. Just have the feeling you may not get around in the winter to well lol.
