I owned a 350z for 6 years...have had the 370 since march.

Chubbs my first impression on the high speed handleing was spot on with yours. It wasn't as confidence inspiring...i knew the 370z handled better...but it was not confidence inspiring..i couldn't comfortably find the cars limits on the street.

Then i had my track day...WOW...the car did a hell (i don't use that word lightly) of a lot better than the 350z....i was going FLAT out in places where i lifted with the 350z.....my mind was saying "NO....NO...NO!" and the Z was saying "GO!..GO!...GO!". I found the car to be superior to the 350z in every aspect trackwise.

Now that i know the car...street driving is more fun..and now i know how to drive my car fast...but it feels totally different.

Steve Millen drove both the 350Z NISMO and a 370Z NISMO this past week at ZCON. He himself said the 350Z NISMO was a better track car (as in being more hard core) vs the 370z that isn't all that into the suspension, etc like the 350z was.

And Steve Millen is a professional race car driver. Enough said.

Facts are facts sir. You can't deny that. All the tests for the NISMO Z 370z have been negative towards it's handling.

Sorry to just elbow into this thread. But about the whole Nismo aspect.. I have to agree that the 370z Nismo IMO seems to be somewhat of a failure vs the 350z nismo AND 370z with sports package. The extra money that is spent on the nismo could pay for engine bolt ons and an upgraded suspension that would make the car far superior to the 350z nismo and 370z nismo.

Well, for one, aftermarket suspension isn't tuned. It might make it feel like it handles better, but my STOCK NISMO suspension still spanks any 350z with aftermarket suspension, coil overs, race tires, etc. It's all in the tuning. So to say a aftermarket suspension is superior is false.

Man I've taken 4 test drives in the Z just to make sure this is the car I wanted to own.
This Z is by far one of the best affordable sports cars of all time.
The interior is nice. To mock its interior while owning a 350z is a joke in itself. Lol
The 370z has superior handling to almost any sub $60k car out there.
And y is the Z so expensive in europe? Do u guys pay more for porsches or are Z's and porsche on the same level?

Plus the NISMO parts are covered and won't land you into the "Warranty Voided" fight that you may or may not win, 2 years from now.

For that much more HP, that isn't all that much of a difference. The handling of the 350Z NISMO obviously is better, but the power is what helped keep the 370z ahead by a hair.

Yea but.. I'm talking about the 370z nismo. I kind of feel there is a difference between the relationships when comparing 350z and 350z nismo and 370z and the 370z nismo.

Interesting observation about life cycles.

It goes this way: 350Z --> G37 --> FX --> EX --> 370Z

IOW, after you've sampled the creampuffs, the bully monsters, and the "pony" bully... you'll be back around.

In our case, we skipped the EX35 because no East Coast dealers had the model in RWD only. (And we tried, for 5-6 months.) Eventually came to realize that we didn't need a Mustang-sized back seat, even... got the 3rd car, a Honda Element, to give us carryspace and AWD.

I just went through two Google pages and could only find people pissing their pants on how good the 370Niz is vs the 350Niz. So "all the tests" is going to require one hell of a lot of searching for some support..........................:stirthepot:

So please find a few links....and I'll provide ten for every one you find that support my statement!

They are on this site. It has been posted many times. C&D, M&T, etc all said the handling is worse. The Slalom is less than the NIZMO 350Z, and less than the standard 370z. So do some research for a change. So stop being a noob and search.

mrcardio 06-05-2010 03:45 PM

Looks like the 370Z handles quite well.
