Is your Z a burden to you?
Anyone find their Z a burden?
For example: high monthly payments, insurance, can't afford gas, two seaters, can't afford repairs, cabin space, excessive noise, unwanted attention, complaints from significant other etc etc. I don't have any problems with my car, but I can imagine the Z can be a burden for some. Especially if he/she uses it as a DD. |
never found my Z to be a burden when i had it, but in my situation im single and my friends have their own cars they can drive if they want to get somewhere and as far as the road noise, etc. that never bothered me with my Z as it was 10x quieter than the chevy cobalt that i had before it and a hell of alot more fun to drive
|
Its not a burden of you enjoy it
|
Not a burden, in my case more an obsession with the modding part of it.

Two seats are great, esp at the office as I don't have to haul people to lunch or pickup visitors. |
I love my Z as a DD! If anyone find the car annoying because they can't afford payments, gas or service its not the cars fault they bought a car they can't afford. I purchased my Z right after we got our son a car since I no longer has to be a sports taxi and I love not driving a SUV!
|
a sports car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. if it's a burden then you should have bought something else that fits your needs/budget :twocents:
|
The only burden is not driving it during this fvcked up winter. I miss the hell out of driving it.

As a dd all these things don't bother me; noise, gas, cabin space, attention(only at times) etc. But I've been trying to get away from the mod virus but I'm already felling a little sick :ughdance: Also, I don't the Z is a burden for the OP, he was just asking if anybody did |

A lot of the problems you mention seem to be common for people who spend more than they can afford. You should evaluate all of these elements prior to purchase.

The only person I can think of who might answer yes on this forum would be JungleZ. He hates his Z and gets banned regularly for being excessively vocal about it on the forum. You can ignore him if he posts here  |
It is now, because I saw another Midnight Blue in Phoenix. That brings the total up to three (including mine).
Time to sell. :( |

I DD the **** out of my Z, because that's all I have.
|
not saying its terrible. nothing wrong with it at all.
but for me personally, if i want a good, comfy, dd that i could lay the hammer down on if i needed to, i'm looking to something from europe |
Nope, love it!
|
They only burden is always wanting to mod it and getting the stink eye from the wife.
|
The only "burden" my Z was for me, was that it took up valuable space in my garage in the winter. My wife's car was in there and my daily driver had to live outside.
|
NO. In no way do I see my DD 370Z as a burden.
If anything the car is a deal, as most every other car I'd buy is more money. |

The only problem I have with my Z is that I don't get to take it everywhere I want because there's more than two of us going there. :)

i mentioned this before somewhere, but just because the Z is an economical sports car does not mean it was intended for the poor. :ugh: |

No burdens at all for me and its my DD too. Road noise irritated me some but a new Alpine deck, amp, and speakers ended that.
My kids are grown and gone and my wife and I take a trip now and then which is great. I love my Z with the good and not so good that comes with it. It's a sports car, an inexpensive sport car at that, and a drop dead head turning machine. Burden????? Hell no. |
I do wish I had bigger windows. Break my neck just using a drive up ATM or going through a drive-thru.
Also, tend to bang my head every once in a while getting in and sometimes hard to get out when you're on an incline. But still an excellent daily driver and comfortable. |

Not gonna lie. I was hesitant to buy the Z because of the trunk space since I golf a lot.
Surprisingly, I could fit at least 3 golf bags into the trunk space without an issue :happydance: My car is paid off, so the cost of owning the car isn't an issue. Sometimes I wish it could be eco-friendly as my previous car (Prius), but I already expected the major difference in MPG aha :rofl2: |

My only burden is that I get overly protective of my Z.

And I always parky my car at an empty parking lot by myself so I wouldn't get door dings. Even it means that I have to walk an extra block to where I'm going. Door dings are ugly |
The answer you wanted to hear.
Yes it is a burden. I cant afford my car payment. My insurance company won't insure me. I have to put in premium gas. I have to park in Budapest to prevent door dings. I have to wash it. It is black and the Texas heat is horrible. I had to spend a small fortune on tires. I have to get out to open the back hatch....what's up with that. Driving a standard in traffic for my 4 mile trek to work is absolutely grueling. I feel as though I am being watched. And to top it all off I found raccoon prints on my hood. Just trying to fill the void of JungleZ. This would be the perfect thread for him. |
