STANT InStant Fill PN 41004 Gas Cap
So I saw this link in another thread to a touchless gas cap, and I thought it would be nice to have one...
So it took me less than 3 minutes to swap them out and thats with picture taking:tup: The way I figure it is the gas cap door locks when you lock the car, so no worries about anyone fiddling with it... and I dont have to worry about the cap dangling on the teather ;) i bought this one from Advance Auto Parts, PN 41004. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/IMG_0172.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/IMG_0173.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/IMG_0175.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/IMG_0184.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/IMG_0183.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/IMG_0185.jpg |

i took the survey to see the results and no i didnt respond to the nail breaking one
Overall site visitor responses to the question "Why does the InStant Fill fuel cap appeal to you?" 25% To save time during refueling. 32% To keep my hands clean and odor free. 22% To eliminate a source of discomfort for those with arthritis in fingers, hands, or wrists. 15% To refuel like a NASCAR race team. 6% To save nails from breaking. Never touch your gas cap again! |
I like this. Thank you.

it doesnt throw a CEL because it has a spring loaded cover on the bottem of it. When you stick in the nozzle to fill, it pushes the cover down and sideways, when your done and you take out the nozzle, the cover pops right back into place and blocks air from getting in/out.
The fords have this as a factory installed option on all of the 09+ model year trucks now. (although theirs is built in, you cant remove it like a gas cap). |

i had a GSA vehicle last week, drove it to north dallas and back, it was a ford hybrid, so gas miliage was insane...
anyway when i got back i took it to the fuel point to top it off before turning it in and low and behold it had the same type of gas cap... at first i thought the dumba$$ before must of lost the fuel cap :icon14: i musta looked at it for half a minute trying to figure out wether it was suppose to be like that or the cap was missing  i like the idea of not having to fiddle with a gas cap, so i decided to be the guinea pig  |

This looks nifty. I just wonder if you have to worry about anything going into the opening when you press the gas nozzle into the receiver such as rain water or whatever that might accumulate there?
