"check engine soon" flashing.. helpppp
I was driving home today from work and my z was flashing its "check engine soon" light. The engine became groggy and wouldnt let me rev over 4k rpm. When arriving home, the check engine light stopped flashing and it became normal again... I always had the CEL on because of my test pipes, but this is the first time that it would blink on and off. Any suggestions why this is happening? Maybe cylinder misfire? My Z is a 09, 60k miles with stillen exhaust and intake. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cylinder misfire. Get a code reader. No one else will help until you give us all the codes.
Clean your MAF sensors |
if a check engine light flashes, its a misfire. i would start with plugs

Mine is at dealer as of Saturday. Like everyone said get code read. Mine was p300 which I had of and on ever since aem intakes.
I couldn't get it to clear and this time the ses would also flash , so I was going to clean Maf but noticed oil around valve covers. So I took to dealer since I thought they changed valve cover in November because I brought in because p300 but they didn't. They just did throttle body relearn and oil change and crush gasket. Dealer is going to change coils and plugs because could be fouled from the oil so we will see if finally gets resolved. |
Thanks for the info. Error code is p0011. I just got my synthetic oil change done at the dealership a week back. I've been getting synthetic oil changes at jiffy lube all these years though

It could be your oil gallery gaskets and that will cause a blown motor. Get the motor diagnosed asap and mention the gaskets.

mine showed up 4 days ago but stopped after driving for less than a minute. I assumed it was because unplugged the battery when installing my kick plates. But if it happens again I'll then check on the recommendations here.

If you are pre 2012 the gaskets are definitely a concern. Do not mess around with it. Expensive fix but much better than a whole new motor. (Believe me). This is what was left of my no 6 piston when that gasket finally let go of all the oil pressure. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...471f0ffc9a.jpg
